The product key sticker attached to OEM computers, prior to Windows 8, will not activate the copy of windows supplied with the machine. Only the SLP key can do that and the product key is never requested during activation. The purpose of the external sticker with a key is not known with certainty, but it is most likely a way for Microsoft to check that items for retail sale have had a full royalty paid by the OEM.
I have always been able to confirm the activation status of windows on my computer with the said program (it definitely works in Windows 7 on my computer but I've read of issues with Windows 8). If you look closely at the screenshot from my earlier post, RSDT & XSDT is able to be read and is = DELL PE_SC3 (from the injected SLIC 2.2)
slic 2.2 windows 8
I don't know what you mean by XSDT/RSDT as those are just the main tables that point to the location of other tables and acpi code. Did you drop your previous SLIC? It sounds like a conflict to me, can you dump tables and see what tables are there? Do you have two SLIC tables? I'm not sure if table dropping actually does anything for windows though, maybe SLIC should be auto dropped if injected but as I recall it was only implemented so I could reinject mine when my new firmware had none.
my pc is dell optiplex 745 bios modded slic 2.3 my os windows 7 sp1 ultimate up-to-date i had installed my os several times using oem slp key and last time i did that using another oem slp key"non-brand" my os had activated oflline with no problems but when checked the key i had writed in PID file i found another key previosuly activated from first time i installed and activated windows 7 i discovered that all os installation times i did was the same first oem slp keymy questions:did that means the first oem slp key live in my bios and every time i do a clean installation of windows 7 it will be auto activating using it.....of course with the same cert?that lead me to think that matter is similar to windows 8 activated with oem dm key in pre-activated windows 8 pc...althougt there are important deffernts between both?if i want change my first oem slp key-as i did in PID file-to another one how can i do that?no relation between what i have aiming to with windows 10 at allbest regards
An alternative approach, which was pioneered by different 3D modeling softwares and slicers are "Tree supports" - support structures designed to save material and printing time as much as possible. Branches of supports are generated where needed and limit contact areas to a necessary minimum. This results in a better surface of the original model. The community has rightfully complained that not having this style of supports in PrusaSlicer is a severe disadvantage.
Measurement tool is another feature long demanded by our community. The tool utilizes a geometry detection algorithm that recognizes points (vertices), edges, circles and planes. Users can check model sizes and angles directly in the slicer, so there is no need to open 3rd party software anymore for this purpose. At the moment, it is possible to measure between parts to simplify their better manipulation and organization inside objects (but not between separate objects). Last but not least, the tool allows to uniformly scale the object to the required length by clicking a button in the scene.
The tool is also executed during slicing, providing conservative warnings in case no supports are to be generated but most likely some supports are needed. Experts may find such warning obtrusive, thus the warning may be disabled in application preferences.
Starting with this release, PrusaSlicer is able to import STEP files, which is a format widely used for 3D modelling data exchange. Note that the model is tessellated on import and the slicing algorithms operate on the resulting triangle mesh, i.e., the model is not sliced analytically. 2ff7e9595c
